What are neurotoxins?

Neurotoxins, also known as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are injectable solutions that temporarily block nerve receptors in the muscle, preventing lines and wrinkles from forming. They can be used to treat muscle stiffness, muscle spasms, excessive sweating, and overactive bladder. This cosmetic treatment is the #1 nonsurgical procedure since 2000. Neurotoxins target underlying causes of fine lines on the face, such as, the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting. Microdermabrasion is a painless, noninvasive, skin-rejuvenation procedure using a combination of a fine abrasive tip or crystals and vacuum suction applied to the skin.
